Rain Shelter Greenhouse: A special type of greenhouse that effectively protects plants from adverse weather conditions, allowing them to grow healthier. Made of durable waterproof and moisture-proof materials, it effectively blocks strong winds, sunlight, rain, and other harsh weather, safeguarding the plant's growth environment. Additionally, rain shelter greenhouses can effectively control temperature and humidity, enabling plants to grow healthier and faster.
Kiwi Fruit Cultivation Tips:
1. Soil Selection: Kiwis prefer fertile, loose, well-drained soil with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. It is recommended to add organic fertilizer such as composted manure or chicken manure to the soil.
2. Temperature Requirements: Kiwis thrive in warm, humid climates with an optimal growth temperature of 15°C to 25°C. They cannot tolerate temperatures below -10°C in winter.
3. Light Requirements: Kiwis need ample sunlight but should not be exposed to intense sun. It is advisable to use shade nets or curtains during the growth process for regulation.
4. Irrigation Management: Kiwis require sufficient water but not too much. It is recommended to water 1-2 times a week, avoiding waterlogging to prevent hindrance to root respiration.
5. Pest and Disease Control: Kiwis are susceptible to powdery mildew, aphids, mites, etc. Timely control measures such as chemical pesticides or biological treatments are necessary.
6. Pruning Management: Kiwis require proper pruning to maintain tree shape and promote fruit growth and development.
In general, to obtain high-quality kiwi fruits, attention must be paid to environmental factors such as temperature, light, and water, along with proper management and pest and disease control. In Sichuan, China, kiwis typically sprout and leaf out in March, flower and fruit in April and May, and ripen for harvesting and market availability in August. From April to September is the vigorous growth period and also the shading period for kiwi orchards. After October, the leaves age and gradually fall, entering dormancy from November to March of the next year. During this period, the greenhouse is left uncovered with plastic film, growing in an open field state. In March, the greenhouse is covered with plastic film to increase temperature, allowing kiwis to sprout earlier, grow faster, flower, fruit, and ripen. This multi-span greenhouse system supports cultivation in two periods, allowing for the planting of various economic crops: from October to March (during kiwi dormancy), intercropping with vegetables, strawberries, edible mushrooms, and legumes to increase land use efficiency; and from March to September (during kiwi's vigorous growth period), utilizing the shading effect to grow shade-tolerant economic crops under the kiwi trellis, enhancing income through ecological effects at different levels.
